Chief of Equal Employment Opportunity
Allison Lyman was appointed as the Chief of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) on February 16, 2016. The EEO Program is a statewide program which encompasses department-wide recruitment efforts, workforce analysis and reporting, upward mobility, bilingual services, the discrimination complaint system, and the Disability Advisory Committee. Allison is responsible for the overall management of the EEO Program and recommends program projects and activities to the Director and Chief Deputy Director.
Allison began her State career with the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) in 2012, as the lead Associate Governmental Program Analyst in the EEO Office. In 2014, she promoted to Staff Services Manager I, overseeing the DSH Office of Human Rights. Prior to her State service, Allison taught high school government, history and economics and served as a bank manager.
Allison holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Governmental Studies, a single-subject credential in Social Science and completed the Master’s Program in Government, with an emphasis on State and Federal Government. She was a member of a sub-working group to the CalHR/State Personnel Board Reasonable Accommodation Workgroup and sits as a board member for the Northern California Employment Roundtable for the Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
