Additional Desirable Qualifications for All Air Operations Officer Levels

Persons entering this series should possess the ability and willingness to accept training to qualify them for one or more of the following ratings on their ommercial Airman Certificate listed in order of performance:

  • Rotary Wing Rating
  • Aircraft and Powerplant Rating
  • 500 hours flight time in command of rotary wing aircraft, at least 100 hours of which shall have involved missions operating from sites comparable in location and altitude to CAL FIRE's helispots and heliports
